A new report from the feds finds a small increased change of earthquakes in a small part of West Alabama, and they blame fracking for the change. There are more significant increases in other parts of the country, places where fracking is also more common.
The areas with increase risk are indicated in red/orange on this map. Another map on the USGS page reports earthquake activity--"natural" and "induced", in Brewton.

The Washington Post has a national story on the report HERE.
{PLUS: opposition to fracking is growing, according to a Gallup poll.}
