The Columbia Journalism Review had done just that...reviewed the front pages of newspapers in the aftermath or mass-victim incidents in recent years. And their article asks important media questions about the coverage and how it varies. Why are journalists so hesitant to describe Las Vegas as domestic terrorism? Is there some official federal office that must proclaim it so before a paper can use the term? And Network TV also seemed to avoid it, except in roundtable discussions asking the same question.
