Media: CBS Tries Again

The CBS Eye will be wide open Monday night as Nora O'Donnell takes over anchoring the network's Prime-Time newscast.
I have never worked at the national network level in TV, but I do know a bit about the business. Jeff Glor should never have been in the anchor desk. Scott Pelley was perfect, but failed to attract ratings. He certainly landed on his  feet---at 60 Minutes!
In came new CBS News Division head Susan Zirinsky, the first woman to fill that position, and in came O'Donnell, not the first woman on the anchor desk, but the first in the aftermath of the Charlie Rose and Leslie Moonves' "MeToo" dismissals.
The Washintgon Post quoted former CBS Face The Nation Host Bob Schieffer, She is...

“simply the perfect person for this.” But he added with a touch of cautious realism, “We’ll see — we have a tall hill to climb.”

The only commercial TV stations I have worked for have been CBS Affiliates (WIAT-TV in Birmingham and WAKA-TV in Montgomery), and 60 Minutes has always among my favorite news programs.
I have high hopes for O'Donnell's success! Watch her in Montgomery at 5:30 Monday on CBS 8.
