I paid a photo visit to Wetumpka on Thursday.
It's been six months since the town was hit by a tornado that destroyed one church and damaged another, including destroying the steeple.
The nearby Poarch Creek Indian casino donated 25,000 to help First Baptist recover, but they returned the check because they oppose gambling.

Despite the storm damage, the city is moving forward with a downtown street renovation project, including turning an empty lot into a pocket park:

I also visited the former post office that was turned into the Elmore County Historical museum.
