Headlines

Another newspaper headline is causing headlines....on and offline.

Following the presidential speech about recent gun violence, the N.Y. Times came under fire for the headline above the paper's front page story:

from The Washington Post:

“This is the ‘Dewey Defeats Truman’ of racism,” Rolling Stone writer Jamil Smith tweeted Monday
about the Times’ front page, referencing the Chicago Daily Tribune’s infamous headline gaffe that incorrectly reported the results of the 1948 presidential election.
“Unbelievable,” tweeted former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke on Monday. After a weekend vigil for the El Paso shooting victims, O’Rourke had strong words for a reporter who asked him what Trump could do to “make this any better,” responding in part, “You know the s--- he’s been saying . . . I don’t know, like, members of the press, what the f---?”
