Arthur
Bremer was sentenced in Maryland to 63 years in prison for his attempt
on the life of Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace (Bremer was released in
2007).
The clothing Wallace was wearing when Bremer shot him in Maryland. It is in the collection of The Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery, along with other artifacts about that day.
The shooting left Wallace in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
He died on September 13, 1998.
Bremer is alive and living in Maryland. His travel is restricted.
