The Freedom From Religion Foundation has written to a North Alabama School System planning to hold a prayer event --- a "Back To School Worship Service"---in the gym at the Dekalb County High School in Fyffe tomorrow morning.

There's an easy way around this controversy, though I am sure the schools will not take it.
Just have the event sponsored by, and held at, a local church. And invite anyone who wants to attend to do so.
It is the school's role in organizing the event that places it in violation of the U.S. Constitution, as I am sure the school board lawyers know.
Do you really want some school administrator leading your children in whatever prayer they choose? Or some minister teaching them his or her version of history?
