This year's N.Y. Times traveler---Sebastian Modak---has written about the gulf coast...no make that the 

FLORIDA

Gulf Coast.

The word Alabama appears three times in his dispatch. One is a reference to the "Sweet Home Alabama" song.

The other inconsequential mentions are references to driving through Alabama to get to Florida, and referring to the Alabama panhandle looking as if it is reaching for Alabama.
