I read the Washington Post's article yesterday that I see as a kind of modern Pentagon Papers for Afghanistan, but I neglected to post it.
Read it! The next time you want to brag about the bravery of the troops, remember that they probably have no good reason for being in Afghanistan.
"Since 2001, more than 775,000 U.S. troops have deployed to Afghanistan, many repeatedly. Of those, 2,300 died there and 20,589 were wounded in action, according to Defense Department figures."
And it was a non-partisan effort to ignore the worthlessness of the military action there. From Bush to Obama to Trump. They all played the cards to their own benefit. And Americans died as a result.
