Poetry: Rosa

Rosa

by
Tim Lennox

Stubborn Fall leaves
swirl across the scene,
finally blown off their branches
in bright sunshine as
Rosa
is revealed,
beating Martin to the finish line
(And how they would laugh over that!)

The seamstress with a hard
inner political justice core.
Her statue stands at the curb,
waiting for the bus that would carry her
into herstory.
Statuary Recognition.
At last.
