U.S. State Department War on Media

From a N.Y. Times story:

"WASHINGTON — The State Department will not allow NPR’s diplomatic correspondent on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s government airplane for an upcoming trip, which includes a stop in Ukraine, following the secretary’s extraordinary outburst last week over being questioned about Ukraine during an interview with the network."

     It is not the first time it has happened, though this time it was clearly because Pompeo is angry with the reporter.

"In 2004, The New York Times said it was not given a seat on Air Force 2 when Vice President Dick Cheney was stumping with President Bush, because the vice president was displeased with the paper's coverage of him."
