On this date in1993....there was snow in all of Alabama's 67 Counties!
There was also a record snowfall in Birmingham:
10.3 inches on March 13, 1993 (storm 2-day total was 13 inches at Birmingham International Airport) Montgomery saw 3.8 inches.
None of these photo are from that year, but they show some snow in Montgomery in more recent years:
Nothing like that this past Winter (of 2019-2020), when we had ample rainfall (it was the wettest Winter on record in Alabama, but there was never a cold enough temperature for snow in Montgomery! BTW, the wettest single day in Montgomery in March was 16 March 16, 1990 when 8.50 inches of rain fell.)
Spring begins one week from now, on March 19!
