When we went to the local WalMart on Tuesday we saw the yellow police-like tape marking the orderly lines for customers to "queue up" on their way into the store, and uniformed workers standing by to monitor those customers.
But we were also struck by the announcements from outdoor loudspeakers about the lines etc. They added to the police-state feeling of the scene!

I'm glad I'm a recluse these days and rarely have to venture out.
