Instead of spending those millions on land based Internet service....

This photo shows one of the latest string of SpaceX satellites being deployed...when the system is complete, it will offer fast Internet service just about anywhere. Here's the email I received when I sent them my Zip Code:

Thank you for your interest in Starlink!
Starlink is designed to deliver high speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable, expensive, or completely unavailable. Private beta testing is expected to begin later this summer, followed by public beta testing, starting with higher latitudes.
If you provided us with your zip code, you will be notified via email if beta testing opportunities become available in your area. In the meantime, we will continue to share with you updates about general service availability and upcoming Starlink launches.

Here's the thing: Alabama is getting ready to spend hundreds of millions of dollars through ADECA to build a land-based system providing internet service to rural areas by stringing cables across hundreds of miles of the state.

Why not use that money to hook people up to the upcoming satellite system?

Whatever happened to the GOP and small government? Can Alabama state government somehow provide the service cheaper?
