The U.S. House is considering the annual budget legislation that provides military funding this week, but this year there is a measure included to change the names of military bases named for confederate leaders, including Alabama's Fort Rucker.
The bill is expected to pass the Democratic-majority House and then go to the Republican-majority Senate next week, where it also is likely to pass.
The Trump White House is threatening a veto, but there are probably enough votes to override it.
A Possible new name: Fort Lt. Gen Harold Moore.
