A NEW Old Alabama Town?

Photos of an old Alabama schoolroom at Old Alabama Town in Montgomery

UPDATE: Proposed changes verified...

Yes, Old Alabama Town has operated inefficiently for a long time and it fails to actively convey any narrative. Landmarks is going to push the pause button for a while and implement a few changes. We will reopen sometime in October.

Thanks,
Collier

I can not verify this message posted on Facebook under the name of the relatively new Old Alabama Town Executive Director, Collier Neeley, though I have sent emails seeking comment.
Neely was the grandson of the late Mary Ann Neeley, who served as unofficial Montgomery historian.

The announcement appeared only in one place on Facebook...and was not posted on the Old Alabama Town website!

Nonetheless, I am offering it here as a potential major change in the facility that offers visitors views of Alabama past. It suggests an end to continuation of regular tours, and a start to more targeted tours of interest to people involving slavery,  architecture history, the labor--i.e. union--movement etc. Here's the letter in its entirety.
