It's now Southern Baptist Convention for some members.
The Washington Post had the story first:
“Our Lord Jesus was not a White Southerner but a brown-skinned Middle Eastern refugee,” said (Southern Baptist Convention president J.D.) Greear, who this summer used the phrase “Black lives matter” in a presidential address and announced that he would retire a historic gavel named for an enslaver. “Every week we gather to worship a savior who died for the whole world, not one part of it. What we call ourselves should make that clear.”
Organized religions across the board have sins to atone for. The Catholic church owned slaves. The church of England "missionary organization, the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, branded its slaves on the chest with the word SOCIETY to show who they belonged to."
Who's next?
