" We're good at not making money."
The somewhat tongue-in-cheek comment of Martin McCaffery, who runs the Capri, and who has been struggling along with other businesses to keep the doors open.
His latest email deals with "inside baseball" in the commercial movie theater business, which I won't get into here. But he also discusses the death of a very faithful Capri member:
"Sadly, we've lost one of our oldest, literally, Capri members this week. Henrietta MacGuire passed away at the age of 102. Right up until we closed down, Henri was still coming to the movies. I first met her over 30 years ago at Montgomery Magazine and while I'm not sure she ever mastered her computer, she was sharp until the end. She is missed."
MacGuire will also be remembered as the widow of the President of Costa Rica. Really. A great story you can read about HERE.
