A monument to Rosa arks was dedicated at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery on Tuesday, the 65th Anniversary of her arrest, followed by the the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

But as I watched the story of the unveiling. I wondered about Rosa's pacifism.
It was central to her arrest and to the year-long bus boycott that followed. I wondered how her non-violence meshed with the essential violent nature of the U.S. Air Force?
And was not Rosa's involvement with the Highlander School essentially an anti-violence, pro-peace activity?
And did she not allow herself to be arrested peacefully on that bus.
She didn't call in an F16 air strike.
