Even The Democrats Adopt Republican Anti Democratic Party Language

 

     I've complained frequently about Republicans using the phrase "Democrat Party"....an outgrowth of a decades ago attempt by the GOP to avoid calling that party by its correct name "Democratic Party".

    I guess it is time for me to give up that linguistic battle, when the senior elected Democrat in the state uses the language the GOP wants her to use.

    Rep. Terri Sewell released a statement about not running for Sen. Richard Shelby's seat. And here's what she, or her staff, wrote:

“I will remain actively engaged in the U.S. Senate race in Alabama and will throw my full weight behind the Democrat candidate who emerges as the strongest advocate for protecting voting rights, expanding economic opportunity, and strengthening access to health care.”

      Thanks Representative Sewell, for waving the white flag. I thought at least you would maintain the correct name for your party and its candidates, The Democratic Party, NOT the Democrat Party. Shame.
