Literally Watch

Been a minute since I issued a "literally watch"...pointing out a misuse of the word "literally" But here is one in a very cool story posted at www.space.com:

"You can now take the controls of a historic NASA spacecraft — literally.

A team of Hollywood prop and visual artists are offering replicas of the Apollo command module control panel. The museum-quality reproduction features every switch, knob and indicator that was used on board the first three missions to land astronauts on the moon and to bring the Apollo 13 crew safely back to Earth."

Literally means "in fact".

For example, if you owned a toy store and stocked drones that people could buy at the counter and fly out the door after paying, you could say "My drones are literally flying off the shelves"

But if you were just trying to say they were selling very, very well, then no.

Literally Watch is a longstanding effort here at www.timlenoxcom to point out the misuse of the word. So far it has not worked.
