This story may be of interest to Montgomery folks because we have an historic connection with The Wright Brothers, who founded their first flying school here in late February 1910.

Ohio has an earlier claim to the brothers.....and placed their plane on the new state car tag trailing a "Birthplace of Aviation" banner. But they put the banner on the front of the plane. It is an easy mistake to make, since the plane looks as if the craft would be flown in the other direction, but you would think someone involved in the process would have noticed before the display plate was made. They apologized and issued a correct image later in the day.
We are aware that the plane on the new Ohio license plate unveiled this morning was oriented in the wrong direction. We regret this mistake and have fixed the image. This is the correct design that will be reflected on all new plates issued to Ohio drivers.
