Hyundai Is Crushing The Opposition In American Car Sales
Last month was especially good for the automaker.
The company's top-seller for June is the Hyundai Tucson. With a base price of $25,800 (and an available Hybrid), it comes as no surprise that 15,648 customers signed on the dotted line last month. While overall sales have seen a decline, Tucson sales figures increased by 7%.
Another strong performer is the Santa Fe. Hyundai sold 10,691 examples of the larger SUV. Perhaps buyers are opting for the cheaper Tucson as the two are now closer than ever before. Hyundai plans to do something about this; the next-generation model is reported to be larger and more luxurious than before.
The company's third-best seller proves there's hope for the sedan yet. The affordable Elantra is just what the doctor ordered in these financially stressful times. The sales figures reflect this, with 8,372 examples leaving showroom floors last month.
