15 years ago today

     The biggest confederate monument in Montgomery---on the grounds of the Alabama Capitol Building--- was attacked in November of 2007.

    The hands and faces of the four military figures that ring the monument on the Capitol grounds were spray painted black. Three white teenagers were arrested a month later. The confederate flags shown in these photos were later removed by Governor Robert Bentley.
By the way, it is ironic that the I-85 exit sign for the "first white house of the confederacy' is Exit 1---"Union Street".
