So far as I can tell, no Alabama statewide candidate running as a Libertarian gathered enough votes to assure the party will automatically be on the ballot in 2024. That means they'll have to gather signatures again.
But the party is having an impact elsewhere....including the too-close- to-call Georgia U.S.Senate race as reported by The N.Y. Times, with 95% of the voted turned in.
Note that the libertarian candidate has 80,95 votes. If he had not run, most if not all of those votes would likely have gone to Republican candidate Herchel Walker, giving him 1,980,168 votes... more than Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock's 1,935,464. (My supposition is because the libertarian party more closely aligns with the GOP, except in social issues...in which they take a "Government hands off" position.)
UPDATE
Note also the good possibility that there will be a runoff between the top two candidates, since neither appears likely to receive more than 50% of the vote...and that would eliminate the Libertarian candidate.
Georgia U.S. Senate Election Results
Senator Raphael Warnock, whose victory in a 2021 runoff helped Democrats gain control of the Senate and made him the first Black senator from Georgia, is being challenged by Herschel Walker, a former football star and Trump-backed Republican.
