It's no secret that I support Alabama joining the 40 other states that have expanded Medicaid.

  Why do you object to it?

North Carolina is going to become the 40th state to expand the program. That state's News & Observer newspaper reports:

 

"The House and Senate have agreed to pass Medicaid expansion, reaching a breakthrough after years of debate. North Carolina is one of just 11 states that has not adopted Medicaid expansion under the federal Affordable Care Act."

Democratic North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper:

“Medicaid Expansion is a once in a generation investment that will make all North Carolina families healthier while strengthening our economy, and I look forward to signing this legislation soon,” Cooper said on Twitter.
