GOP Polling Question:
"A recent survey by the Alabama Republican Party shows the majority of Alabama voters want school choice in the state of Alabama. The poll asked 1,610 respondents the following question:
"The State Legislature is considering a bill that would give parents the ability to choose which schools their children attend using state funds. Do you support or oppose school choice legislation?".
Of course, as with most complex issues there are unanswered questions:
Are public funds going to be used to pay for transportation to take these children to the schools of their choice? A fleet of taxis? Should we extend that choice to other public services...other than schools?
If I like the way the fire department in a nearby neighborhood operates, should I be able to make THAT choice? Police precincts too? And maybe the garbage collection crews in a nearby town do a better job...choice?
