There MAY be Navy ship-sized expansion at the Alabama Austal facility in South Alabama...if financing doesn't get in the way.
Forbes is reporting:
. Planning documents show Austal has been seeking permission to build a massive modular manufacturing facility and three new “final assembly” bays, adding around 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space in total. It is a huge endeavor, but, with Austal’s business case in almost continuous flux, the U.S. capital expansion plans are dangerously fluid.

Then there is a trouble with the ships already built by Austal, like The USS Montgomery and others, about to be decommissioned, years earlier than scheduled.
