Distressed Alabama: #7 Nationally

 

A new report from WalletHub lists the most and least financially distressed states.

For context, WalletHub defines financial distress as having “a credit account that is in forbearance or has its payments deferred, meaning the account holder is temporarily allowed to not make payments due to financial difficulty.”

The report looked at a variety of factors including credit scores, number of accounts in distress and changes in bankruptcy filings.

The most financially distressed states are:

  1. Louisiana
  2. Mississippi
  3. Texas
  4. Tennessee
  5. Nevada
  6. South Carolina
  7. Alabama
  8. Washington D.C.
  9. Georgia
  10. Kentucky
