Civil War Redoux

There were once four confederate flags around the Montgomery Capitol Memorial*

The U.S. Supreme Court is going to hear arguments over the use of the 14th Amendment to block Trump from the primary ballots:

The 14th Amendment, ratified in 1868, includes a provision meant to keep those who sided with the Confederacy during the Civil War from serving in office. Specifically, Section 3 states if someone took an oath to support the Constitution and then participated in an insurrection, he or she cannot hold certain offices.

The court’s brief order scheduled oral arguments for Feb. 8

*Governor Robert Bentley had them taken down after his staff found no authorization record.
