 The dress Cornelia Wallace was wearing the day her husband, Governor George Wallace, was shot in Maryland.....

The dress worn by Cornelia Wallace the day of the shooting.

It is part of the collections at the Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery. The clothing the Governor was wearing is also in the collection.

 

Wallace was paralyzed as a result. The wheelchair he used is also in the ADAH.
