State Offices Closed Tomorrow

 It's another of those confederate holidays that only Alabama and a few other former Confederacy states commemorate. It honors Jefferson Davis' birthday. His statue is in front of The Alabama Capitol building.

 

A star (not the right one, but whatever...) on the steps leading up to the front doors marks the spot where he stood when he was sworn in.
