Tropical Weather Update

 LATEST INFORMATION: A well-defined tropical wave currently over Hispaniola will move west-northwest over the next day or two. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for development and a tropical depression is likely to form this weekend or early next week over the eastern Gulf of Mexico near the Florida peninsula. Formation chance through 48 hours: LOW (30 percent). Formation chance through 7 days: HIGH (70 percent). We will continue to monitor this area closely over the next few days. Now is a good time to review your hurricane plans and supply kit. Residents and visitors should monitor the forecast for updates.
