Siegelman on 60-Minutues

The show did a nice job of explaining a very complicated story for folks who knew next to nothing about it, but I honestly didn't see anything new...except for the allegation regarding Karl Rove asking Jill Simpson to get photos of Siegelman in a "compromising sexual position with an aide". Bob Martin of the Montgomery Independent told us on Friday's FTR that the show has a second part to the report that will focus on the trial, and perhaps, on allegations about Judge Fuller. But if that's the case, there was no announcement of "more to come". CBS did have the first video I've seen of Siegelman in prison, in a yard emptying a mop bucket. They also showed former Siegelman aide Nick Bailey behind bars.

  1. Tim--Re staying away from politics : read any good books lately? Where did Mr. Martin get his info about an alleged Part II of the Siegelman story on 60 Minutes???

  2. After watching that I can say without hesitation of any kind that Don Siegelman should be a free man and that all of those who participated in his illegal incarceration should be locked up for a very long time.

I am utterly appalled by what I saw.

  3. This Siegleman story is not going away,,Congress is surely going to investigate and expose some really corrupt folks in Alabama and Washington D.C....People in Alabama do what is correct and bring some pressure on your Congressmen and Senators to free Siegleman during his appeal,,,that is the least you can do,,,,ROVE is now powerless and can not do any more damage to your state,,,,He will be so busy defending himself for so many activities he has engaged in that his cup will runneth over.......................................Charles Belenchia.......Plymouth,,Mich.
