Bird Feeder Failure

I know there is a huge failure rate among new restaurants, but is that also true of feeders for birds? I purchased this new one (on the right)and moved the old one to a different spot (on the left) but I have yet to see a single visitor. Is my advertising at fault? I have a great health rating (98) and have positioned the new places conveniently (and away from cats and other predators)...maybe I need a neon sign?

  1. Hi Tim,
I too have a few new birdfeeders that I just put out. I put one of them quite far out in the yard and was amazed that the birds have gone to this one first rather than their old favorites. Perhaps they are being cautious at first and don't want to come too close to where humans reside? Now that the far-away feeder is half empty, they are venturing closer to the house to pick at those. I think as spring gets further along, there will be more and more activity at all of the bird feeders. (Just be happy the squirrels haven't found it yet!)

  2. Thanks Elena...I'll try to be patient. Severe weather headed this way tonight, so maybe the birds will want to have a meal in preparation. (-: By the way, the new one is in exactly the same place the ols one was in, so it shouldn't be location!
