Girls State

Each year I sit on a panel with two Public Relations folks during Girls State at Troy University, and it's that time of year again. Carrie Kurlander of Alabama Power, Michael Bridell of the Montgomery Mayor's office and I try to give the girls a feeling for how the media works (or doesn't work). Some of the state's high-profile women are alumni of the American Legion sponsored event, just as it's companion Boys State has produced many well-known Alabama men.
