State Senate this afternoon overrode Governor's veto of that Shelby County Sunday liquor sales bill. The vote was 18 - 11. Riley argued the legislation was unconstitutional. Thanks to the Senate, he now has a chance to go to court to prove it.
This is pure political grandstanding, nothing more.
If the guvnuh was TRULY interested in issues of constitutionality, he'd have FIRST struck and embroiled Madison county/Huntsville's Sunday sales law in our state's court system.
Riley's more full or hot air than the total collection of balloons that appear at Point Mallard Park for the Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Festival on Memorial Day weekend.
In effect, he's telling the good people of Alabama he's clueless.
