Despite all the talk not too long ago about working together, the C.B.D. you want after your name is not an "R", and regardless how large the C is, it won't be large enough.

I'm NOT a Democrat! (C.B.D. Ala.)
A Politico.com report includes North Alabama U.S. Representative Parker Griffith among ten in-danger Democrats who are building giant walls between themselves and the National Democratic Party. And Rep. Griffith going so far as to request that Politico not call him a Democrat. "Conservative Blue Dog" is the congressman's title of choice. One reminder Mr. Congressman:

He is a DINO.
ReplyDeleteParker Griffith has been an abysmal disappointment to this district, and to the party.
ReplyDeleteMany consider him to be a Republican in Democrat's clothes. Parker Griffith courted Bud Cramer's support, and Cramer endorsed him.
I predict an uphill climb for Griffith in the next go 'round.
Wayne Parker, a seemingly perennial congressional candidate with relations to Texas Republican Tom Archer, is a Big Business, Insurance Banker - not a good choice, especially given the heartache this nation has suffered under Big Business, Bankers and Insurance companies.
Griffith's campaign coffer is amassing quite well, according to reports.
I'd like to see a Democratic challenger to Griffith, but doubt that'll happen.
The nature of Alabama politics has not been one of intellectual discussion, and has rather been one of knee-jerk sound bites.
"I'm against death panels..."
"I'm against taxes..."
"I'm opposed to government run healthcare..."
Hey!
Know what I'm opposed to?
Swallowing carbon!
But... carbon is the antidote for oral poisoning.
So, give me a handful of diamonds. They're carbon.
That's the kind of stupidity from which we suffer in Alabama politics.
Another prime example is a front-page photo of a "Tea Bagger" lady in her gad-about motorized chair. She appeared to be visibly morbidly obese. I supposed based upon her obesity that a government program assisted wholly or in part of the purchase of that contraption, useful though it may be.
And there she had the unmitigated gall... er, stupidity, to hold a sign that read, "Your silence means consent."
IDIOT!
She has hers, but doesn't want anyone else to have any.
IDIOT!
We must engage in honest dialogue in this nation, rather than falling as ignorant prey to those whom have ulterior motives for Big Business, rather than for the people's interests.
I'm with Kevin on this....and Blue Dog Democrats seem to be springing up from all over. More success to more of them!
ReplyDeleteAlabama is a Red State when voting in national elections. And will Probably continue to do so.
