Copper thieves caused a fire that burned down the official Birmingham Alabama Christmas Tree.

    Must be a lot of work to separate the little bits of copper in the light fixtures. Also dangerous, using gasoline.

    Update--a radio station has promised to purchase a replacement tree, lights and everything!

    Maybe the media isn't so bad after all!
