Triple A is out with its annual study of the cost of owning, operating and maintaining a car.
I was surprised to read that the biggest expense isn't tires or gas, it's depreciation of the auto itself....and that the depreciation cost is down this year because there are more motorists keeping their cars longer, depressing the supply of used vehicles on the market.
The average sedan cost per year? $8,946, or, 59.6 cents a mile, an average increase this year of 1.9%.
