Wednesday's story of the young man in Auburn cutting off his hand with a chain saw brought back memories from the story of Eric Robert Rudolph, the Christian Extremist bomber who killed a police officer and severely wounded a nurse at a Birmingham Women's Health Clinic, and bombed the Atlanta Olympics and a gay bar in Atlanta. He's in prison forever in a Federal lockup in Colorado.
Rudolph's brother Daniel, a carpenter, cut off his hand with a circular saw during the early months of the long hunt for his brother, blaming the F.B.I and the Media.
And he videotaped it.
And no, I do not believe the tape ever surfaced. Of course that was in March of 1998...pre-YouTube, pre-ubiquitous cell phone video cameras. Pre show-and-tell-everything.
Wasn't it?
Did the boy in Auburn tape his mutilation?
