That statistic is what has prompted some high school civics class students to start a petition drive to convince the Presidential Debate Commission to choose a woman this time.
They tried to deliver the petitions on flash drives today, but were not allowed to leave them out of security concerns.
In an interview on NPR, of of the girls pointed out how disappointing that was, saying her classmate had "given up volleyball camp" to deliver them.
