Thanks for the stroll down childhood memory lane, Tim. I had forgotten until I saw that opening clip that there was a Saturday morning "edition" of Captain Kangaroo. In our house, Saturday was the only day my parents slept late, and the only day that we kids spontaneously awoke bright and early. There was usually a Roy Rogers movie on some channel and then Captain Kangaroo - all before the Saturday morning cartoons began.
