That was the NRA's Friday proposal to keep schools safe. They called one of those "news conferences" at which they make a statement and then run away, refusing to answer questions. Their proposal is to position an armed cop in every school.
Needless to say, it quickly came under criticism from Democrats.
But if more guns would keep us safe, wouldn't the U.S. be the safest place on earth right now?

Not a peep since the shootings in Connecticut a week ago from Alabama Senator Roger Bedford.
He's a gun advocate who said he would introduce legislation allowing Alabama residents to carry guns to their workplace. His legislation would exempt schools, and the guns would have to remain locked up.
The Business Council of Alabama sees the legislation as an invasion of business owners' rights.
And I still want to know if the big box retailers who sell guns allow their employees to be armed at work.
