TIME magazine reports on death this week...and cremation, an increasingly popular way to dispose of bodies after it.
The bottom two states---with the fewest cremations??? Mississippi (9.5%) and Alabama (11%), in that order.
But The Cremation Association of North America says business is increasing:
The Decatur Daily reported half a dozen years ago that even in Alabama the numbers were increasing, but not because it is such a less expensive form of disposing of bodies.
And you may recall the two Alabama Game Wardens who started offering to pack the deadly departed's ashes into shotgun shells for an explosive sending off. Their web page is still alive, so I guess they are still in business.
