Sunday Focus: MPD... Above & Beyond.

     The official description of the duties of The Montgomery Police Department's Motors Bureau includes...

 "providing escorts and controlling traffic"...it says the work is "very demanding both physically and mentally", and describes the bureau's motorcycles as an ideal tool for "apprehending speeding violators." 

     But 1st Shift Supervisor Sgt. O.V. Chavez didn't need any speed at all, or much strength either, on Saturday in front of the State Capitol during an African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church event.
