Traveled up river on the Harriet II paddle-wheeler* Thursday evening, a cruise for advertisers on Alabama News Network (CBS 8, ABC Montgomery, MeTV etc).
I caught some views of Montgomery only available from the river. Here are a few:

Students of the Civil War may know that
a paddle-wheeler disaster on The Mississippi River killed about 1,700 people in the Spring of 1865, yet it barely made it into history books, probably because the public had become numb to large casualty numbers during the war that had just ended.
