Alabama gets a D in a report on nursing homes, but that's better than the F for Texas and some other states.
The same group ranks Alabama high in the size of fines for nursing homes that provide inadequate care. They average $42k in the state. Four states had no fines at all...Nursing Home heaven (for the operators, anyway).
U.S. News and World Report has a database you can used to search for a nursing home by a variety of factors.
Medicaid also has a database to help locate a home with the best possible care.
I've been to nursing homes many dozens of times in recent years, visiting a friend's Mom. I think I'll take the Mac truck at 60mph.
