There I am, a touch above legisaltors but below even preachers.

 The Gallup folks report the honesty and ethics of preachers has fallen below 50% for the first time.



 ...but note which professions are held in even less esteem...including 
TV reporters!







[UPDATE: the biggest difference in level of trust comes between different party affiliation. And notice how trust changes over time..

    That's because of two reasons--

    First: "TV reporters" probably includes weather folks, and they're prone to over-estimating weather situations such as snow.

    Second: Fox News.

    Further: "Clergy" may mean anything from snake-handling preachers to TV hucksters to responsible, professional, duly-ordained legitimate clergy without so much as a parking ticket on their records.

    (Full disclosure: I did get a speeding ticket a few years ago.)
