The White House has been pushing for an increase in the minimum wage....Alabama state law does not set a minimum, so the Federal law applies...$7.25 an hour.
The Administration wants it raised to $10.10.
By the end of the year, about half of the U.S. States will have approved state laws increase their minimum wage above that Federal minimum.
The PEW folks found broad support for an increase.

Ironically, there is another group with almost the same name, The Economic Policy Institute (EPI), that finds exactly the opposite. Pick your favorite EPI, I suppose.
